Vela-Navega multiplexers are capable of multiple configurations in a multitude of situations: they can act as serial data combiners; they can receive wired serial data and output it as wireless wifi data; they can translate SeaTalk1 data to Nmea 0183 data (Nmea2Wifi, Nmea3Wifi and Nmea4Wifi) and one model (Nmea3Wifi) can also convert from Nmea 0183 to SeaTalk1; Our latest model, N2K0183, can convert N2K messages to Nmea0183 sentences and vice-versa. All of them can receive wireless wifi data and output it as wired serial data. Yet, the simplest and the most common application is to create a wifi network  so that all the boat instrument and AIS data becomes available on PCs, tablets or smart-phones connected to the wifi network. Click the images to see them enlarged on a new window.

At present there are 4 multiplexers: Nmea2Wifi, Nmea3Wifi, Nmea4Wifi and N2K0183. The first 3 models are available as TH (Through Hole) or SMD (Surface Mounting Devices) versions. They are also available in KIT form to be assembled by the user. The recent model N2K0183 is only available as a SMD unit. The Nmea3Wifi and the N2K0183 multiplexers were the result of a collaborative work with Richard Clutterbuck, to whom we are very grateful.

You can learn about the different types of multiplexers by following the menu on right of this page or by visiting the forum dedicated to each of the multiplexers.
