NMEA3WIFI - TH and KIT after March 2023
Hello, I was called the attention for the fact that some old AIS transmitters do not have sufficient output swing voltage to drive the A263N optocoupler with a 1K input series resistor. In order to guarantee enough driving current to turn on the optocoupler I decided to lower the input resistor from...

Finally - N2K0183 released!
Hello, The N2K0183 multiplexer is a bridge between Nmea0183 and N2K devices. The unit contains a bidirectional N2K bus interface, with N2K to Nmea0183 and Nmea0183 to N2K converters. The unit can convert data from N2K sensors so that their data can be transferred, as Nmea0183 messages, by WiFi or wi...

The Nmea3Wifi as an Analyser Tool for the SeaTalk1 bus
Hello, In order to show the capabilities of the Nmea3Wifi multiplexer as an analyser/debugger of the SeaTalk1 bus we injected by an external device all the known datagrams (plus an unknown at the end) and, at the same time, we set the Nmea3Wifi multiplexer to read the SeaTalk1 input (we need to chec...

Ground Loops and Galvanic Isolation
Hello, All Vela-Navega multiplexers have Nmea0183 opto isolated inputs ports and a Nmeaa0183 differential output port. If we need to connect the Nmea0183 output port to a Nmea0183 listener, we need to know if the listener has an opto isolated input. If the listener has a single ended input we should...

N2K0183 Hardware Test
Hello, We describe here a test that you can make in the case that you need to be sure that all the hardware of the N2K0183 multiplexer is working without problems. This test checks the operation of the Nmea0183 output port P2, the Nmea0183 input ports P1 and PX, and the CAN bus transceiver. You can ...

Re: Can I use an NMEA2WIFI for something custom ?
Hello Boris, If you flash with a custom binary and want to return to nmea2wifi you the same problem as if you need to change the ESP32 module in a TH unit. There is a small OTA program in the forum that you can flash the "destroyed" EEPROM and then you can do a OTA flash of the nmea2wifi binary. If ...

Re: Can I use an NMEA2WIFI for something custom ?
Hello Boris,
I see no problem. You have the schematics. I do not understand why you need to use OTA. You could just flash your binary using the serial port and Arduino.
Regards, Luis
